Things have been on hold for a while but getting back on track now. Look for an article about the corps in the St. Petersburg Times, Sunday edition on either Nov 5th or 12th, 2000.

OUR FIRST GOAL - The time has come for a new Sr. Drum & Bugle Corps to represent the Tampa Bay area.  With your help, we will be that corps. We are now in the forming stages with lots of work to do to get this corps put together.  We need people on staff, volunteers, and of course people who want to be members.  We plan to utilize the "any key" concept even though Sr. Corps has not yet adopted this policy for competition.  This will ease us in the cost of purchasing new or used instruments since many people already have their own horns in B-flat.

MEMBERSHIP - Membership is open to any individual 16 or older with no upper age limit.  Although we prefer individuals with previous marching band or drum corps experience, we will try to work with anyone regardless of past experience.  If you want to be part of the organization, we will help you all we can. Expenses will be kept to a minimum with fund raisers, sponsorships, and donations hopefully taking care of the majority of the cost of running the corps.   Their will be monthly dues but that cost has not yet been determined.

THE FIRST YEAR - The first year will undoubtedly be the most difficult as we strive to put together a "quality" organization.  We plan to practice twice a month on Sunday afternoons and then participate in parades and do some exhibitions.  We would like to be ready to do a Christmas parade and some brass ensemble Christmas music in the local area as our first exposure to the public.  This will depend on how quickly everything comes together.

MORE INFO - If you would like to be part of this organization, please send us email telling us about your background and what you want to do with the corps.  Be sure to include your name, address and phone number so we can contact you as soon as possible.  There is also a newsletter planned in the near future for members and interested persons.
